Toby
C. Chai, M.D.
Dr. Chai is a Professor of Surgery, in the Division of Urology. He received
his M.D. from Indiana University, served a urology residency at the University
of Michigan Medical Center and completed a urology and neuroscience fellowship
at the University of Virginia, where he was an American Foundation for Urologic
Disease research scholar.
Dr. Chai has won numerous awards for his academic contributions, including the 2001 Young Investigator Award from the Society for Basic Urologic Research and the 2005 Paul Zimskind Award from the Society for Urodynamics and Female Urology. He is a recognized national leader in the field of bladder conditions and voiding dysfunction. In addition, Dr. Chai has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers, chapters, reviews, and essays. He has lectured internationally.
His special interests include urodynamics, incontinence, female urology, voiding dysfunction, interstitial cystitis and bladder reconstruction.
Harry
W. Johnson, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Johnson is Associate Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive
Sciences and Director of the Division of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive
Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Board certified in
obstetrics and gynecology, he previously served as Director of Urogynecology
at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD and was the Residency Program
Director at University of Maryland for 11 years.
His special interests include hysteroscopy, urogynecology, laparoscopic surgery/pelvoscopy, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic reconstructive surgery, and minimally invasive surgery.
Dorothy
Atkins, M.S., C.R.N.P.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner
Dottie is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) who is an independent
care provider in the Women's Center at University of Maryland Professional Building.
Dottie has been active in the field of women's health for over 25 years. She
provides primary care to women at the Women's Center. She is the recipient of
the President's Award -- Service to Patients awarded to her by University Physicians,
Inc. at University of Maryland Baltimore. She has given multiple lectures related
to women's health issues in the Baltimore regional area. Dottie is dedicated
to providing the best care to women patients afflicted with bladder conditions
as part of our team approach here at University of Maryland Bladder Care Center.
