UMGCC Named Center of Excellence by Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation
The University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center has
been designated as a Center of Excellence by the Myelodysplastic
Syndromes Foundation.
To be recognized as a Center of Excellence for treatment in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), a hospital must have:
- An established university (or equivalent) program
- Recognized morphologic expertise in MDS
- Available cytogenetics and/or molecular genetics
- Ongoing research, including Institutional Review Board-approved clinical trials
- Documentation of peer-reviewed publications in the field
- The ability and intention to register patients in the MDS International Registry Database
