UMGCC Named Center of Excellence by Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation

The University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center has been designated as a Center of Excellence by the Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation.

To be recognized as a Center of Excellence for treatment in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), a hospital must have:

• An established university (or equivalent) program
• Recognized morphologic expertise in MDS
• Available cytogenetics and/or molecular genetics
• Ongoing research, including Institutional Review Board-approved clinical trials
• Documentation of peer-reviewed publications in the field
• The ability and intention to register patients in the MDS International Registry Database
