Research Matters 2008, a conference on the Maryland Cigarette Restitution Fund, is a joint program of Maryland’s academic Health Centers, the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center.
The purpose of the annual conference is to:
The State of Maryland was one of 46 states, five territories, and the District
of Columbia, to benefit from the 1999 multi-state lawsuit against the cigarette
manufacturers. Subsequently, the Maryland General Assembly established the multimillion
dollar Cigarette Restitution Fund (CRF) to distribute funds throughout the State
for smoking cessation programs and education, cancer research, prevention, screening
and treatment, tobacco crop conversion assistance, and other cancer-related
activities.

Walking directions from the Baltimore Grand Garage to the MSTF Auditorium: West on Baltimore Street toward Law School and University of Maryland Medical Center (Walk on the left side near the Park). Cross Greene St. and continue on W. Baltimore St. (Dental School will be on the right). Go about a block and the building will be on the left; 685 W. Baltimore St. (numbers are on the building). Enter and proceed to the 2nd floor via stairs or elevator (elevators are to the right). Once on the 2nd floor, follow directional signs and cross over the in-door bridge, this will bring you to MSTF Auditorium. Please check in at registration table.
