Programs of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT)

The Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) is an interdisciplinary mobile outreach treatment team. The program is a licensed and certified and staffed by psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, counselors and an employment specialist. The PACT Team was initially a federally funded research project to determine the effectiveness of a PACT model with homeless mentally ill adults. As of August 1993, it has become a freestanding treatment service in the Division of Community Psychiatry.

There are two teams designed to provide intensive psychiatric and case management services and advocacy:

 

Adult PACT
 
Child and Adolescent PACT
(Capacity- 130 clients) Services include:
Case management including:
 (Capacity- 40 clients)
Psychiatric treatment including:
  • Psychiatric assessment & diagnosis
  • Medication Management
  • Dual Diagnosis Treatment
  • Crisis intervention
  • 24/7 staff availability by phone
  • Locating and securing housing
  • Entitlements application assistance
  • Linkages to medical care and transportation
  • Assistance with ADLs and IADLs
  • Representative Payee*
  • Employment services
 Services include
(in addition to those listed under adult):
  • Collaboration and advocacy in the school system
  • Family support and education
  • Parenting skills training
