Skin Sweating Disorders

Sweat glands under the skin produce sweat to help keep the body cool. Sweating increases with warmer temperatures, stress, or nervousness. Sweat consists of water, salt, and other chemicals produced and excreted from the body.

There are several sweating disorders. Listed in the navigation in the blue box on the left side of this page are some, for which we have provided a brief overview.

If you cannot find the condition in which you are interested, please visit the Online Resources page in this web site for an Internet/World Wide Web address that may contain additional information on that topic.
