Biography:Eugene J. Schweitzer arrived at the University
of Maryland in 1991. He is the director of kidney
transplantation at the University of Maryland
Medical System. Schweitzer received his medical
degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry
of New Jersey and spent his residency at
University Hospital, Newark. He continued his
training at the University of Minnesota and
became an assistant professor at Georgetown.
Since coming to Maryland, Schweitzer specializes
in kidney and pancreas transplantation and plays
an active role in clinical research.
