• Molecular methodologies for the laboratory diagnoses of infectious diseases
• Use of real-time PCR to develop more accurate, cost-effective and timely laboratory tests
• Antimicrobial resistance of interest include Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)
• Resistant mobile genetic elements in gram negatives including extended spectrum β-lactamases and plasmid mediated AMP-C β-lactamases
