Research Interests:

Dr. Finkelstein’s research focuses on development and evaluation of new computer and telecommunication technologies aimed to improve management of patients with chronic health conditions. He is particularly interested in uncovering the potential of computer technologies that can facilitate implementation of current clinical guidelines and support patient self-care in chronic pulmonary diseases. Dr. Finkelstein has active research projects in three major areas where use of computer technologies was shown to facilitate management of chronic health conditions: computer-assisted patient education, telehealth, and data mining and knowledge discovery in large administrative datasets.
