Biography:

Dr. Sharma serves as assistant professor of medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She joins the multidisciplinary team of internationally recognized experts in cancer care and research at the UMGCC.

Dr. Sharma received her training in hematology-oncology at the University of Cincinnati and the affiliated Barrett Cancer Center. She completed her residency at New York University Downtown Hospital where she was nominated by her peers as the outstanding resident for the 1998-1999 academic year. She also received the 1999-2000 Primary Care Award for "Outstanding Performance in Ambulatory Medicine." She earned her medical degree from Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi, India.

Dr. Sharma is board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. She has presented on multiple tumor board meetings and grand rounds. Dr. Sharma is accepting new patients at University of Maryland Oncology Associates in Glen Burnie at The Aiello Center. Her special interests include lung cancer, colon cancer and breast cancer.
