You should not receive this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to this medicine or any iron products, or if you have anemia that is not caused by iron deficiency. You should not receive this medicine if you have too much iron in your blood.
Your doctor will prescribe your exact dose and tell you how often you should receive this medicine.A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine. You will receive the medicine in an IV infusion during your dialysis sessions.
If a dose is missed:
This medicine needs to be given on a fixed schedule. If you miss a dose, call your doctor or dialysis clinic for instructions.
Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant, breast feeding, or have ever been treated for any blood disorder. Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney disease, or heart problems. Make sure your doctor knows about any other health problems you may have.
Your doctor will need to check your blood at regular visits while you are using this medicine. Be sure to keep all appointments.
