Veins and arteries vary in size from one patient to another and from one side of the body to the other. Obtaining a blood sample from some people may be more difficult than from others.

Less than 2% of the general population test positive for antiparietal cell antibodies. However, that percentage increases with age. Up to 16% of people over age 60 may test positive for antiparietal cell antibodies.
