Síntomas:

Algunos de los síntomas de una luxación de la mandíbula son:

  • Mordida que se siente "fuera de su sitio" o torcida
  • Dificultad para hablar
  • Babeo producto de la imposibilidad de cerrar la boca
  • Imposibilidad de cerrar la boca
  • Mandíbula que puede protruir hacia adelante
  • Dolor en la cara o en la mandíbula, delante de la oreja del lado o lados afectados, que empeora con el movimiento
  • Dientes que no se alinean normalmente

Algunos de los síntomas de una fractura (rotura) de la mandíbula son:

  • Sangrado por la boca
  • Dificultad para abrir bien la boca
  • Moretones en la cara
  • Hinchazón de la cara
  • Rigidez de la mandíbula
  • Sensibilidad o dolor en la mandíbula, el cual empeora al morder o masticar
  • Dientes flojos o dañados
  • Protuberancia o apariencia anormal de la mejilla o mandíbula
  • Entumecimiento de la cara (especialmente del labio inferior)
  • Movimiento de la mandíbula muy limitado (con fractura severa)
