El uso de apoyacabezas en el automóvil puede reducir, aunque no eliminar, la gravedad del dolor en el cuello a raÃz de un accidente automovilÃstico. Se recomienda asegurarse de que el apoyacabezas esté colocado en una posición apropiada de acuerdo con la estatura de la persona.
Si efectivamente se presenta el sÃndrome del latigazo, se aconseja aprender técnicas apropiadas de estiramiento una vez que el cuello se haya aliviado con el fin de reducir la posibilidad de retorno del dolor y la rigidez.
