Quemaduras - Prevention

Prevención:

Para ayudar a prevenir las quemaduras:

  • Instale alarmas de humo en el hogar. Revise y cambie las baterías regularmente.
  • Enseñe a los niños las medidas de seguridad adecuadas en caso de incendio y el peligro que ofrecen la manipulación de fósforos y juegos pirotécnicos.
  • Evite que los niños trepen a la estufa o tomen objetos calientes como planchas y puertas de los hornos.
  • Voltee los mangos de las ollas hacia la parte posterior de la estufa, de tal manera que los niños no puedan tomarlas y que no puedan ser volcadas accidentalmente.
  • Coloque extintores de incendios en lugares claves en la casa, el trabajo y la escuela.
  • Retire las cuerdas eléctricas de los pisos y manténgalas fuera de alcance.
  • Conozca y ensaye rutas de escape en caso de incendio en casa, en el trabajo y en la escuela.
  • Gradúe la temperatura del calentador de agua a 120º F (50º C) o menos.
