Shock
Definición:
Es una afección potencialmente mortal que se presenta cuando el cuerpo no está recibiendo un flujo de sangre suficiente, lo cual puede causar daño en múltiples órganos. Requiere tratamiento médico INMEDIATO y puede empeorar muy rápidamente.
Consideraciones generales:
Entre los principales tipos de shock se incluyen:
- Shock cardiógeno (asociado con los problemas cardÃacos)
- Shock hipovolémico (causado por un volumen inadecuado de sangre)
- Shock anafiláctico (causado por una reacción alérgica)
- Shock séptico (asociado con las infecciones)
- Shock neurógeno (ocasionado por daño al sistema nervioso)
Causas:
El shock puede ser ocasionado por cualquier condición que reduzca el flujo de sangre, incluyendo:
- Problemas cardÃacos (como ataque cardÃaco o insuficiencia cardÃaca )
- Reducción del volumen de sangre (en caso de hemorragia profusa o deshidratación grave)
- Cambios en los vasos sanguÃneos (como sucede en la reacción alérgica grave o las infecciones).
Un shock está a menudo asociado con un sangrado externo o interno profuso debido una lesión seria. Las lesiones en la columna también pueden causar shock .
El sÃndrome del shock tóxico es un ejemplo de un tipo de shock debido a una infección.
