Atelectasia

Colapso parcial del pulmón.Tratamiento:
El objetivo del tratamiento es retirar las secreciones pulmonares y reexpandir el tejido pulmonar afectado.
Los siguientes son tratamientos para la atelectasia:
- Utilizar tratamientos respiratorios con aerosoles para abrir las vÃas respiratorias
- Ubicar el cuerpo sobre el lado no afectado para permitir la reexpansión del pulmón
- Retirar cualquier obstrucción por broncoscopia u otro procedimiento
- Realizar ejercicios de respiración profunda (espirometrÃa incentiva)
- Realizar palmoteo ( percusión ) del tórax para aflojar el moco
- Inclinar el cuerpo (drenaje postural) de tal manera que la cabeza quede más baja que el tórax para drenar el moco
- Tratar el tumor o la afección subyacente, si existe
Expectativas (pronóstico):
El pulmón colapsado generalmente se reexpande en forma gradual una vez que la obstrucción ha sido liberada. Sin embargo, se puede presentar algo de cicatrización o daño residual.
Complicaciones:
Después de la atelectasia se puede desarrollar rápidamente una neumonÃa .
Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:
Se debe buscar asistencia médica si el paciente desarrolla los sÃntomas de la atelectasia.
