Acidosis respiratoria - Treatment

Acidosis respiratoria; Insuficiencia respiratoria; Insuficiencia ventilatoria

Tratamiento:

El tratamiento está orientado hacia la enfermedad pulmonar subyacente y puede incluir:

  • Medicamentos broncodilatadores para contrarrestar algunos tipos de obstrucción de las vías respiratorias
  • Ventilación con presión positiva no invasiva (algunas veces llamada CPAP o BiPAP) o ventilación mecánica si se necesita
  • Oxígeno si el nivel de éste en la sangre está bajo
  • Tratamiento para dejar de fumar

Pronóstico:

El pronóstico depende de la enfermedad causante de la acidosis respiratoria.

Posibles complicaciones:

  • Funcionamiento orgánico deficiente
  • Insuficiencia respiratoria
  • Shock
