NeumonÃa en huésped inmunocomprometido
Definición:
Es una infección pulmonar que se presenta en una persona cuya capacidad para combatir la infección está enormemente deteriorada.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:
Las personas inmunocomprometidas tienen una respuesta inmunológica defectuosa y, debido a esto, son susceptibles a las infecciones por gérmenes (microorganismos) que están presentes en todas partes, pero que no causan enfermedad en personas saludables. Estas personas son igualmente más vulnerables a las causas usuales de neumonÃa que puede afectar a cualquier persona.
La inmunosupresión puede ser causada por infección por VIH , leucemia, trasplante de órganos, trasplante de médula ósea y medicamentos para tratar el cáncer .
