Tratamiento:

Si usted es alérgico a un fármaco, el médico puede ordenar suspenderlo. (Nunca deje de tomar un medicamento sin consultar primero con el médico).

Si la afección se debe a una infección, lo pueden tratar con un antibiótico o medicamentos antiparasitarios.

Algunas veces, usted puede necesitar corticosteroides (medicamentos antinflamatorios potentes).

Pronóstico:

La enfermedad con frecuencia desaparece sin tratamiento, pero si éste se necesita, la respuesta generalmente es buena. Sin embargo, se pueden presentar recaídas (la enfermedad reaparece).

Posibles complicaciones:

Una complicación poco común de la eosinofilia pulmonar simple es un tipo grave de neumonía, llamada neumonía eosinofílica idiopática aguda.

Consulte con el médico si tiene síntomas que pueden estar asociados con este trastorno.

Prevención

Se trata de un trastorno poco común y, muchas veces, no se puede encontrar la causa. El hecho de minimizar la exposición a los posibles factores de riesgo (ciertos medicamentos, algunos metales) puede reducir el riesgo.
