Neumonitis por hipersensibilidad - Tratamiento

Tratamiento:

Primero, se tiene que identificar la sustancia extraña y el tratamiento implica evitarla en el futuro. Es posible que algunas personas necesiten cambiar de ocupación si no pueden evitar la sustancia en su trabajo.

Si la persona tiene una forma crónica de esta enfermedad, el médico le puede recetar glucocorticoides (medicamentos antiinflamatorios potentes).

Expectativas (pronóstico):

La mayoría de los síntomas desaparecen cuando la persona evita o limita la exposición al material que causó el problema.

Complicaciones:

La forma crónica de la enfermedad puede llevar a fibrosis pulmonar, una cicatrización del tejido pulmonar que a menudo es irreversible.
