Enfermedad pulmonar asociada a artritis reumatoidea; Nódulos reumatoideos

Definición:

Es un grupo de problemas pulmonares relacionados con la artritis reumatoidea. La afección puede incluir:

Bloqueo de las vías respiratorias pequeñas (bronquiolitis obliterante).
Líquido en el tórax (derrames pleurales).
Presión arterial alta en los pulmones (hipertensión pulmonar).
Protuberancias en los pulmones (nódulos).
Cicatrización (fibrosis pulmonar).

Causas:

Las anomalías pulmonares son comunes en la artritis reumatoidea, pero a menudo son asintomáticas.

Las causas de la enfermedad pulmonar asociada con la artritis reumatoidea se desconocen. Algunas veces, las medicinas utilizadas para tratar la artritis reumatoidea, especialmente metotrexato, pueden producir enfermedad pulmonar.
