Empiema

Síntomas:

• Tos seca
• Fiebre y escalofrío
• Sudoración excesiva , especialmente sudores nocturnos
• Molestia general, inquietud o indisposición ( malestar )
• Pérdida de peso involuntaria
• Dolor en el pecho que empeora con la inhalación profunda (inspiración)

Signos y exámenes:

El médico puede notar hallazgos anormales, como disminución de los sonidos respiratorios o un roce, al escuchar el tórax con un estetoscopio ( auscultación ).

Entre los exámenes se puede mencionar:

• Radiografía de tórax
• Toracocentesis
• Cultivo y tinción de gram del líquido pleural
• TC del tórax
