Granulomatosis de la mediana edad
Es un extraño trastorno en el cual los vasos sanguíneos resultan inflamados, dificultando así el flujo de la sangre.
La granulomatosis de Wegener afecta principalmente los vasos sanguíneos en la nariz, los senos paranasales, los oídos, los pulmones y los riñones, aunque otras áreas pueden estar comprometidas.
Se desconoce la causa, pero se cree que es un trastorno autoinmunitario.
La granulomatosis de Wegener es más común en adultos de mediana edad. Es rara en niños, aunque se han visto casos en bebés hasta de tres meses de edad.
