Higroma quístico - Treatment

Linfangioma

Tratamiento:

El tratamiento consiste en la extirpación completa del tejido anormal, cuando es posible. Sin embargo, los higromas quísticos con frecuencia pueden invadir otras estructuras del cuello, haciendo imposible su extirpación.

Se han ensayado otros tratamientos con éxito limitado. Dichos tratamientos abarcan:

Medicamentos quimioterapéuticos
Inyección de medicamentos esclerosantes
Radioterapia
Esteroides

Pronóstico:

El pronóstico es bueno si se puede extirpar totalmente el tejido anormal con cirugía. En los casos en que la extirpación completa no sea posible, es común que se presente la reaparición del higroma.

El desenlace clínico también puede depender de qué otras anomalías cromosómicas o defectos congénitos se presenten (si hay alguno).

Sangrado
Daño a las estructuras del cuello causados por la cirugía
Infección
Reaparición del higroma quístico
