Tratamiento:

El tratamiento puede no ser necesario si usted no presenta síntomas. El médico puede revisar los medicamentos que usted está tomando con el fin de constatar que no estén empeorando la afección. Sin embargo, no deje de tomar ningún medicamento, a menos que el médico lo haya indicado.

La implantación de un marcapasos permanente puede ser necesaria si los síntomas están relacionados con bradicardia (frecuencia cardíaca lenta).

Una frecuencia cardíaca rápida (taquicardia) se puede tratar con medicamentos. Algunas veces, se utiliza un procedimiento llamado ablación por radiofrecuencia para curar la taquicardia.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Este síndrome es progresivo, lo cual significa que empeora lentamente.

El pronóstico a largo plazo es excelente para aquéllos que tienen un marcapasos permanente implantado.

Complicaciones:

Angina
Disminución de la capacidad para el ejercicio
Caídas o lesiones causadas por un desmayo
Insuficiencia cardíaca
Bombeo inadecuado del corazón

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:

Solicite una cita con el médico si experimenta episodios de mareos, desmayos, palpitaciones u otros síntomas.
