Regurgitación mitral aguda - Symptom

Síntomas:

Dolor de pecho no relacionado con arteriopatía coronaria o ataque cardíaco
Tos
Respiración rápida
Dificultad para respirar que se incrementa al acostarse (ortopnea).
Sensación de percibir los latidos cardíacos (palpitaciones)

Nota: los síntomas pueden comenzar de manera repentina.

Signos y exámenes:

El médico puede detectar frémito (vibración) sobre el corazón al sentir ( palpar) el área del pecho. Igualmente, se pueden escuchar un ruido cardíaco adicional (ritmo de galope S4) y un soplo cardíaco distintivo al auscultar el pecho con un estetoscopio. Sin embargo, algunos pacientes pueden no presentar este soplo. Si el líquido se represa en los pulmones, pueden presentarse crepitaciones allí.

La presión arterial generalmente es normal.

Se pueden llevar a cabo los siguientes exámenes:

Cateterismo cardíaco
IRM del tórax
Radiografía de tórax también puede mostrar líquido en los pulmones o venas pulmonares prominentes
Examen Doppler del flujo a color
Tomografía computarizada del tórax
Ecocardiografía
ECG que muestra generalmente un ritmo sinusal normal, pero puede mostrar ritmos cardíacos anormales
Gammagrafías con radionúclidos
Cateterismo cardíaco derecho que puede revelar presión alta en la aurícula izquierda
Ecocardiografía transesofágica (ETE)
