Regurgitación mitral aguda

SÃntomas:
- Respiración rápida
- Dificultad para respirar que se incrementa al acostarse (ortopnea).
- Sensación táctil de los latidos del corazón ( palpitaciones )
- Dolor en el pecho no relacionado con enfermedades de la arteria coronaria o con un ataque cardÃaco
- Tos
Nota: los sÃntomas pueden comenzar de manera repentina.
Signos y exámenes:
La palpación puede mostrar frémito (vibración) en el corazón. Por medio de un examen estetoscópico se puede percibir un soplo caracterÃstico en el corazón; sin embargo, dicho soplo puede estar ausente en algunos casos de regurgitación mitral aguda. Si el lÃquido refluye a los pulmones, pueden presentarse crepitaciones allÃ. Igualmente, se puede escuchar un sonido adicional (galope auricular o S4)
La presión sanguÃnea es usualmente normal.Â
Se pueden llevar a cabo los siguientes exámenes:
- EcocardiografÃa Â
- Examen Doppler del flujo a color
- EcocardiografÃa transesofágica
- Cateterismo cardÃaco
- RadiografÃa de tórax también puede mostrar lÃquido en los pulmones o venas pulmonares prominentes
- Método Swan-Ganz ( cateterismo cardÃaco derecho ) que puede revelar presión alta en la aurÃcula izquierda
- ECG que muestra usualmente un ritmo sinusal normal, pero puede revelar arritmias
- IRM del tórax
- GammagrafÃas con radionúclidos
- TC del tórax
