Taquicardia auricular multifocal
Tratamiento:
Si una persona tiene una afección que pueda conducir a la taquicardia auricular multifocal, primero se debe tratar dicha dolencia.
El tratamiento para este tipo de taquicardia comprende:
- Métodos para mejorar los niveles de oxÃgeno en la sangre
- Administración de magnesio por vÃa intravenosa
- Suspensión de medicamentos, como la teofilina, que pueden incrementar la frecuencia cardÃaca
- Medicamentos para controlar la frecuencia cardÃaca, como los antagonistas del calcio (verapamilo, diltiazem) o los betabloqueadores selectivos
Expectativas (pronóstico):
La taquicardia auricular multifocal es controlable si se trata y controla la afección que causa los latidos cardÃacos rápidos.
Complicaciones:
- Reducción de la acción de bombeo del corazón
- Insuficiencia cardÃaca
- MiocardiopatÃa
Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:
Se debe buscar asistencia médica si:
- Los latidos irregulares o rápidos están asociados con otros sÃntomas de taquicardia auricular multifocal.
- Los sÃntomas empeoran, no mejoran con el tratamiento o si aparecen sÃntomas nuevos.
