Tratamiento:

Se conocen pocos tratamientos efectivos para la cardiomiopatía restrictiva. El objetivo del tratamiento es controlar los síntomas y mejorar la calidad de vida.

Los siguientes tratamientos se pueden utilizar para controlar los síntomas:

  • Quimioterapia
  • Diuréticos para eliminar líquidos y ayudar a mejorar la respiración
  • Esteroides

Si la función cardíaca es deficiente, se puede considerar la posibilidad de hacer un trasplante de corazón.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Las personas con cardiomiopatía restrictiva pueden ser candidatas para un trasplante de corazón. El pronóstico depende de la causa de la afección, pero generalmente es desalentador. El promedio de supervivencia después del diagnóstico es de 9 años.
