Tratamiento:

El tratamiento consiste en estirar el anillo pasando un dispositivo llamado dilatador a través del área. Algunas veces, se coloca un globo en el área y se infla, lo cual ayuda a ampliar el anillo anormal.

Cuando la dilatación no funciona, se puede necesitar la cirugía para extirpar el tejido anormal.

Igualmente, se debe tratar cualquier cuestión relacionada con el reflujo, como GERD.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Los problemas para deglutir pueden reaparecer y se pueden necesitar tratamientos repetitivos.

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:

Se debe solicitar asistencia médica si se presentan problemas para deglutir o síntomas de enfermedad del reflujo gastroesofágico (GERD).
