Úlcera gastroduodenal aguda
Es la hinchazón (inflamación) y debilitamiento del revestimiento del estómago que ocurre durante una enfermedad grave.
Si la gastritis por estrés es severa, puede causar úlceras y sangrado.
A diferencia de la úlcera péptica típica, las úlceras gastroduodenales agudas se pueden reconocer inicialmente por un sangrado gastrointestinal que hace que uno vomite sangre o elimine sangre oscura en las heces.
El médico es quien mejor puede decidir si usted necesita medicamentos para prevenir la gastritis por estrés.
Los pacientes generalmente reciben medicamentos para evitar este tipo de gastritis si están con ventilación mecánica en una unidad de cuidados intensivos o si presentan trastornos hemorrágicos.
