Un divertículo de Meckel es un tejido remanente de estructuras en el tubo digestivo del feto que no se reabsorbió por completo antes del nacimiento. Aproximadamente el 2% de la población tiene divertículo de Meckel, pero sólo unas pocas personas presentan síntomas.
