Hepatitis autoinmunitaria

Tratamiento:
La prednisona y otros corticosteroides ayudan a reducir la inflamación. La azatioprina y la mercaptopurina son drogas que se utilizan para tratar otros trastornos inmunitarios y también han demostrado que ayudan a pacientes con hepatitis autoinmunitaria.
Expectativas (pronóstico):
Los resultados varÃan. La terapia con corticosteroides puede retrasar el progreso de la enfermedad. Sin embargo, la hepatitis autoinmunitaria puede convertirse en cirrosis y requerir transplante de hÃgado.
Complicaciones:
- Cirrosis
- Insuficiencia hepatocelular
- Carcinoma hepatocelular
- Complicaciones relacionadas con el uso de esteroides y otros medicamentos

Se debe buscar asistencia médica si se presentan sÃntomas que sugieran una hepatitis autoinmunitaria.
