Prevención:
Debido a que se desconoce la causa, también se desconoce la prevención.
En pacientes que padecen colitis ulcerativa, los medicamentos antiinflamatorios no esteroides (AINES) pueden empeorar los sÃntomas.
Debido al riesgo de desarrollar cáncer de colon asociado con la colitis ulcerativa, se recomienda realizar un examen con colonoscopia después de 8 años de padecer la enfermedad.
