Prevención:

No tomar alcohol en exceso. Si la persona cree que su problema de consumo de alcohol se le está saliendo de las manos, debe buscar ayuda profesional.

Evitar el consumo de drogas intravenosas (o únicamente utilizar agujas limpias y nunca compartir otros elementos) para reducir el riesgo de contagio con hepatitis B y C.

Algunas investigaciones indican que la hepatitis C se puede diseminar a través del uso compartido de agujas o pajillas utilizadas para inhalar cocaína u otras drogas, por lo que se recomienda evitar la inhalación de drogas y no compartir la parafernalia relacionada con esto. Si la persona tiene problemas con drogas psicoactivas, debe buscar ayuda.
