Prevención:

Se utilizan nuevos métodos de tratamiento, cuando sea posible, para evitar o disminuir la probabilidad de enteritis por radiación. Estos métodos abarcan:

  • Ajustar la cantidad de radiación que se administra durante cualquier sesión de tratamiento, de manera que se apliquen cantidades más bajas de forma más uniforme o cantidades más altas a áreas específicas.
  • Tener la vejiga llena durante los tratamientos.
  • Colocar de manera quirúrgica grapas especiales alrededor del área que necesita la radiación. Esto ayuda a que el radiólogo se concentre en el área del tratamiento.
