Prevención:

Toda persona mayor de 45 años debe realizarse un examen de glucosa en sangre al menos cada tres años. Se debe realizar el examen a una edad más temprana y con más frecuencia si la persona presenta algún riesgo en particular de diabetes.

Se recomienda mantener un peso corporal saludable y un estilo de vida activo para ayudar a prevenir el comienzo de la diabetes tipo 2.
