A los pacientes hospitalizados con HAD ectópica que no responde a otros tratamientos se les puede suministrar tolvaptán por la boca (vía oral) y conivaptán a través de una vena (vía intravenosa). Estos tratamientos bloquean los efectos de la HAD.
