Apoplejía - All Information

Definición:

Es un sangrado dentro de un órgano o pérdida del flujo sanguíneo hacia un órgano. Por ejemplo, la apoplejía suprarrenal es un sangrado dentro de las glándulas suprarrenales; la apoplejía hipofisaria es un sangrado dentro de la hipófisis, etc.

Cuando la palabra apoplejía (sin especificar órgano alguno) se utiliza sola, a menudo se refiere a síntomas de accidente cerebrovascular que se presentan de manera súbita. Dichos síntomas pueden ser causados por sangrado intracerebral o por un coágulo de sangre en un vaso sanguíneo del cerebro. Afecciones tales como hemorragia subaracnoidea o accidente cerebrovascular algunas veces se denominan apoplejía.

La apoplejía funcional es cuando una persona parece estar teniendo síntomas similares a un accidente cerebrovascular, pero no hay ninguna anomalía en el cerebro.
