Acidosis metabólica

Definición:

La acidosis metabólica es una alteración del equilibrio ácido-básico corporal que produce acidez excesiva en la sangre.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

La acidosis metabólica se puede presentar como resultado de muchas condiciones diferentes, como la insuficiencia renal , la cetoacidosis diabética y el shock.

Igualmente, la ingestión de sustancias tóxicas como los anticongelantes o cantidades excesivas de aspirina puede llevar a que se presente esta condición .

La acidosis metabólica puede llevar al shock o a la muerte cuando alcanza un nivel grave. En algunas situaciones, la acidosis metabólica puede ser una condición leve y crónica.
