Carcinoma anaplásico de la tiroides
Síntomas:
- Tos
- Expectoración con sangre
- Dificultad para deglutir
- Ronquera o cambio en la voz
- Respiración fuerte
- Masa en la parte baja del cuello, que a menudo se nota que está creciendo rápidamente
Signos y exámenes:
Un examen físico casi siempre muestra una masa en el cuello.
- Una resonancia magnética y una tomografía computarizada del cuello pueden mostrar un tumor en crecimiento de la glándula tiroides.
- Una biopsia de la tiroides muestra cáncer anaplásico.
- Una evaluación de las vías respiratorias con un endoscopio de fibra óptica (laringoscopia) puede mostrar una cuerda vocal paralizada.
- Una gammagrafía de la tiroides muestra que esta masa es "fría", lo que significa que no absorbe un isótopo radiactivo.
Las pruebas de sangre de la función tiroidea generalmente son normales.
