Insuficiencia suprarrenal aguda - Treatment

Tratamiento:

En la insuficiencia suprarrenal aguda, los pacientes necesitan una inyección inmediata de hidrocortisona a través de una vena ( intravenosa) o del músculo (intramuscular). Usted puede recibir líquidos intravenosos si tiene presión arterial baja.

Igualmente, será necesario que vaya al hospital para poder realizarle un tratamiento y control. Si una infección causó la crisis, se puede necesitar terapia antibiótica.

Pronóstico:

Si no se suministra un tratamiento oportuno, se puede presentar un shock y esto puede ser mortal.

Cuándo contactar a un profesional médico:

Consulte con el médico si padece la enfermedad de Addison y es incapaz de retener los medicamentos debido al vómito.

Igualmente, acuda a la sala de urgencias o llame al número local de emergencias (como el 911 en los Estados Unidos) si presenta síntomas de una insuficiencia suprarrenal aguda.
