SÃntomas:
Los sÃntomas están relacionados con los bajos niveles de calcio e incluyen sensaciones de adormecimiento y convulsiones.
Signos y exámenes:
Los signos relacionados con la osteodistrofia hereditaria de Albright son, entre otros:
- Baja estatura
- Cara redonda y cuello corto
- Braquidactilia (huesos de la mano cortos, especialmente el hueso situado debajo del 4to dedo)
- Calcificación subcutánea (debajo de la piel)
- Los nudillos pueden ser reemplazados por hoyuelos en los dedos afectados
Los signos de hipocalciemia son, entre otros:
- Convulsiones
- Tetania (acumulación de sÃntomas incluyendo fasciculaciones musculares y espasmos en manos y pies)
- Cataratas
- AnomalÃas dentales
La hipocalciemia comienza de manera caracterÃstica en la infancia.
Las pruebas pueden mostrar:
- Calcio sérico bajo
- Fósforo sérico elevado
- PTH intacta elevada
- Respuesta de AMP cÃclico en orina anormal para la prueba de provocación con PTH (tipo Ia y Ib)
- Prueba para genes anormales
- IRM de la cabeza o TC del cerebro que muestra cambios caracterÃsticos
