Hipotiroidismo primario - Symptom

Síntomas:

Muchos de los síntomas del hipotiroidismo primario también se presentan con muchas otras afecciones y problemas.

El hipotiroidismo primario afecta todo el cuerpo y puede causar una variedad de síntomas. La tasa de funcionamiento corporal normal disminuye, causando pesadez física y mental. Los síntomas pueden variar de leves a severos. La forma más grave se denomina coma mixedematoso y es una emergencia médica.

Un examen físico puede revelar una glándula más pequeña de lo normal, aunque algunas veces su tamaño es normal o incluso un poco más grande (bocio). Otros signos abarcan:

  • Rasgos faciales toscos
  • Hinchazón firme de brazos y piernas
  • Pérdida de los bordes de las cejas
  • Presión arterial baja
  • Temperatura baja
  • Piel pálida, seca y amarilla
  • Frecuencia cardíaca lenta
  • Relajación muscular lenta cuando se prueban los reflejos
  • Cabello débil y quebradizo

Una radiografía de tórax algunas veces muestra un aumento de tamaño del corazón.
