Amiloidosis hereditaria

Definición:

Es una afección en la cual una proteína anormal se deposita en varios tejidos, dañándolos e interfiriendo con el funcionamiento del órgano comprometido. A los depósitos de proteína anormales se les llama amiloide, de ahí el nombre de este grupo de enfermedades.

La amiloidosis se presenta en múltiples formas: espontánea, hereditaria y secundaria a cáncer de las células sanguíneas llamado mieloma. La amiloidosis hereditaria es una forma heredada que se transmite como un rasgo autosómico dominante .
