Prevención:

Para reducir el riesgo de desarrollar esta afección:

  • Utilice glucocorticoides durante el menor tiempo posible y en la dosis más pequeña posible.
  • Tome esteroides día de por medio, en lugar de hacerlo diariamente.
  • Utilice fármacos preservadores de esteroides (por ejemplo, para el tratamiento del asma o la artritis).

Las personas que utilizan esteroides inhalados pueden disminuir su exposición utilizando una cámara inhalatoria y enjuagándose la boca después de la inhalación del medicamento.
