Prevención:

Si una persona tiene diabetes, debe asegurarse de seguir las recomendaciones del médico con relación a la dieta, los medicamentos y el ejercicio.

En caso de tener antecedentes de hipoglicemia, se recomienda mantener un bocadillo o bebida que contenga azúcar disponible en todo momento para tomarlo tan pronto como aparezcan síntomas. Si los síntomas no mejoran en 15 minutos, se debe ingerir más alimento. Asimismo, existe un kit de glucagón disponible para aquellas personas que tengan episodios de hipoglicemia que no respondan bien a otros tipos de tratamiento.
