Tratamiento:

El tratamiento se basa en los síntomas. Los betabloquedores alivian la frecuencia cardíaca rápida y la sudoración excesiva.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Generalmente, la tiroiditis silenciosa desaparecerá por sí sola en un año; la fase aguda termina en tres meses. Algunas personas pueden desarrollar hipotiroidismo con el tiempo, por lo que se recomienda asistir a controles regulares con el médico.

Complicaciones:

Se puede desarrollar hipotiroidismo.
