Tratamiento:

El tratamiento depende de la fuente del problema.

• Testosterona intramuscular (IM) o parches cutáneos de testosterona de liberación lenta.
• Pastillas de estrógenos y progesterona
• Inyecciones de GnRH

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Con una adecuada estimulación hormonal se puede inducir la pubertad y restablecer la fertilidad.

Complicaciones:

• Retraso en la pubertad
• Infertilidad
• Autoestima baja (los niños que presentan retardo en el desarrollo de los cambios asociados con la pubertad pueden sufrir más tarde este problema al compararse con sus compañeros. El apoyo emocional es de mucha ayuda.)

Se debe acudir al médico si el niño no llega a la pubertad como es de esperarse.
