Síndrome ectópico de Cushing
Es una afección en la cual un tumor por fuera de la hipófisis o de las glándulas suprarrenales produce una hormona llamada corticotropina (ACTH, por sus siglas en inglés).
El síndrome de Cushing es el resultado del exceso de hormonas glucocorticoides liberadas por un largo período de tiempo. Aproximadamente el 15% de los casos de este síndrome se deben al síndrome de Cushing ectópico.
