Tratamiento:

Los corticosteroides (administrados en dosis bajas) u otros medicamentos que inhiban el sistema inmunitario pueden reducir la inflamación de los vasos sanguíneos.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

El resultado varía de acuerdo con la ubicación de la vasculitis y la gravedad del daño a los tejidos.

Complicaciones:

Daño permanente a la estructura o función del área afectada
Infecciones secundarias de tejidos necrosados

Los síntomas de emergencia son, entre otros: debilidad, dificultad para deglutir, dificultad en el habla, cambios en el tamaño de las pupilas y pérdida del funcionamiento de un brazo, pierna u otra parte del cuerpo.
